Meyer Seewald was born on October 16, 1916 in Kings County (Brooklyn), New York. He was the son of Wolf and Ida Seewald. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School, and enlisted in December 1941. Meyer served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in Company E, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on November 28, 1944 at the age of 28 and is now buried in Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, Nassau County, New York, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument in Henri-Chapelle, Belgium and ranked as a Private.
