Robert H. Wilson was born on May 22, 1919. He was a member of the 324th Fighter Group, 314th Fighter Squadron during World War II as a Sergeant. Sergeant Wilson took off from the Amberieux-en-Bugey airport on October 30 as part of a convoy mission from Dole-Tavaux to Marseille. Due to the heavy fog that day, his plane, a B-25 Mitchell C-15-42-32428, crashed on a hillside 17km from Bourg-en-Bresse. He died at the age of 25 and is now buried in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, USA.
