Robert C. Rhoades, Jr. was born on July 13, 1918 in Forestville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Robert Gilgore Rhoades and Ruth Schwartz Rhoades. Robert served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on November 27, 1944 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
