Francis L. Hill was born in 1916 in New York. He enlisted in the Army on November 20, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted as being employed as an Optician, lens grinder, and polisher and also as Married. Francis served as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided at 23 Austin Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war. He was Killed in Action on December 4, 1944 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument in Henri-Chapelle, Belgium and ranked as a Corporal.
