Richard E. Vidourek was born at Hamilton on June 27, 1925. He attended St. Joseph parochial school and Hamilton Catholic High school, graduated in 1943. He entered the army on November 27, 1943, and was sent overseas on August 5, 1944, where he saw action in France and Belgium. On November 28, 1944, Sergeant Vidourek was wounded in action and died that same day in the field hospital at Langerwehe, Germany. He served with Company B, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He is now buried in Saint Stephen Cemetery, Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument in Henri-Chapelle, Belgium and ranked as a Private.
