Albert H. Sawtell was born in 1892 in Atlanta, Georgia. He served in the US Army during World War I. He lived in Paris from 1913. Albert died in the American Hospital in Neuilly in 1939 at the age of 47 and was buried in the American Legion Mausoleum just west of Paris.
