FASCIA, NICANDRO (di Antonio): Born Venafro on Jan 22, 1897 served as a soldier in the 49th Field Artillery Regiment (49 Reggimento Artiglieria Da Campagna) killed in combat on June 6, 1917 at Pietra Rossa (Carso). Fascia, Nicandro is a soldier listed on the Ceppegna marker who were all born in or near Ceppegna-Venafro and immigrated to the United States. When Italy entered World War 1 in May of 1915, these men returned to fight in the Italian army and were killed during the course of the war. Fascia, Nicandro was killed while fighting on the Italian-Austrian front.
