Donald L. Bloom was born on June 18, 1923. He was the son of William C. Bloom and Minnie Viola Bloom. He served in Battery B, 285th Field Artillery Observation Battalion as a Private during World War II. Donald was killed on December 17, 1944 at the age of 21, as a POW in the Malmedy Massacre in Belgium. He is now buried in the Union Cemetery, Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania, USA.
