Jack Edward Shively was born on April 4, 1918. He served in the 504th Fighter Squadron, 339th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of the P-51 Mustang #42-106847 during World War II. On June 3, 1944, he took off from Station 378 airfield in Fowlmere, England, for a mission to Le Mans, France. At 08:45 P.M., he was shot down by an enemy fighter, killing him. His airplane crashed in Chinon, France. 1Lt Shively is now buried in the Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga, Carbon County, Wyoming, USA.
