Edward Baliff was born on July 16, 1917 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He served in the 560th Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Technical Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 16, 1943 aboard A/C 42-5904 "Gremlin Gus" when it crashed into the side of a hill at North Moulton, Somerset, at 2115 hours. He is now buried in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Collingdale, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, USA. Edward was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
