Robert L. Barrington was born on December 4, 1917. He was the son of Robert Sidney Barrington and Edna Irene Cook Barrington. He served in the 561st Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He was declared "Missing in Action" on February 10, 1944 and is commemorated on the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. He also has a cenotaph located in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Minden, Webster Parish, Louisiana. Robert was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
