David Stanley Becker was born on April 28, 1925. He served in the 563rd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Sergeant during World War II. On 7 April 1945 B-17 43-38869 "Paula Sue" was rammed by a Me109 flown by Hptm. Roman Pesch in the vicinity of Linsburg. The B-17 broke in half. The forward section crashed into the Grinderwald 3,5km SE of Linsburg. The tail section crashed near a small wood to the south of Bolsehle. All crew died. Becker was first buried by English soldiers near the crash site and is now buried in the Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Denver County, Colorado, USA. He was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
