Dale Theodore Butt was born on July 25, 1921 in Western, Saline County, Nebraska. He was the son of Emil Butt and Ida W. Timm Butt. He had entered service in September, 1942. Sgt. Butt was killed in action over Holland Aug. 19, 1943, one month after he had been sent overseas. He is now buried in the Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin, USA. Dale was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
