Michael J. Chaklos entered the military service in New York. Hee served in the 560th Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Second Lieutenant and Bombardier on the B-17G #42-37878 aircraft during World War II. Killed by flak in the target area Bordeaux/Merignac on January 5, 1944, He is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. 2Lt Chaklos was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
