Irving Samuel Cohen entered the military service in Georgia. He served in the 560th Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Second Lieutenant and Navigator on 42-30224 "A Little Horne" aircraft during World War II. A member of the Horn crew, he was killed when their plane crashed on July 26, 1943. He is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium. 2Lt Cohen was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
