John Reid "Johnny" Denton, Jr. was born on January 1, 1920. He served in the 562nd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of #42-30225 "Plain Mister Yank" aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 26, 1943 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA. 1Lt Denton was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
