Vance Lamar Ferguson was born on June 29, 1922. He was the son of Robert Lee and Carrie Karl Givens Ferguson. he served in the 561st Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of #43-38782 "Ready Maid / Caprice W" aircraft during World War II. Vance died on May 17, 1945 at the age of 22 and is now buried in the Gravel Ridge Cemetery, Gravelridge, Bradley County, Arkansas, USA. He was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
