Bryce Gordon Grant was born in 1925 in Michigan. He was the son of Allyn L. Grant and Marian Cutler Grant. He served in the 561st Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Staff Sergeant and tail gunner of B-17G Flying Fortress #43-38623 "Easy Does It" aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on February 17, 1925 on mission to Frankfurt, Germany. Shot down by a flak and crashing in Wiesbaden, with the loss of all ten crew members. He is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa, Ionia County, Michigan, USA. Ssgt Grant was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
