Carl Kindelt, Jr. was born on January 12, 1916 in Monterey County, California. He was the son of Carl and Louise Wood Kindelt. He served in the 561st Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Technical Sergeant and Radio Operator of #44-6582 aircraft during World War II. A member of the TaylorRB crew, he was killed when their plane crashed over Germany on February 17, 1945. He is now buried in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, USA in a common grave with 1Lt Tallant. He also has a cenotaph located in Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, Yolo County, California. Tsgt Kindelt was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
