Paul Lawrence Le Brun was born on August 6, 1921 in Logan County, West Virginia. He was the son of Albert Louis LeBrun and Cinda Lilly LeBrun. He entered the service on August 10, 1942 at Huntington, West Virginia. He trained at Fort Thomas, Kentucky and Keesler Field, Miss. He served in England and Germany. He attended Scioto Co. schools. Paul served in the 563rd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Technical Sergeant and Engineer of #42-5907 "Wing and a Prayer" aircraft during World War II. A member of the Fulelr crew, he was killed when their plane crashed on July 25, 1943. They went down in the North Sea on the return route. Tsgt Le Brun was Missing in Action and is commemorated on the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands. He was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
