Richard William "Dick" Lindahl was born on June 17, 1920. He was the son of Albert F. Lindahl and Agnes A. Lindahl. He served in the 562nd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of #42-97210 "Jamaica Ginger" aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 11, 1944 at the age of 24 during a secret mission and is now buried in the Estates of Serenity, Marion, Grant County, Indiana, USA. 2Lt Lindahl was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
