Robert Nelson Morgan was born on July 15, 1922. He served in the 562nd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a First Lieutenant and Navigator of #43-37520 "G I Jane" aircraft during World War II. A member of the Bryant crew, he was killed in a midair plane explosion over England on June 8, 1944. 1Lt Morgan is now buried in the Nashville National Cemetery, Madison, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA in a common grave with his crew. He was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
