Charles Henry Parizo was born on April 16, 1922 in Abilene, Dickinson County, Kansas. He served in the 563rd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Staff Sergeant and waist gunner of #42-31131 "Satan's Sister" aircraft during World War II. Charles was killed in action during the flight or when the plane crashed in Birkenu-Odenwald, 12 miles NE of Ludwigshaven, Germany. He is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France. SSgt Parizo was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
