Leo D. Ramos entered the military service in Florida. He served in the 560th Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Flight Officer and Navigator of #42-30851 "Little Boy Blue" aircraft during World War II. A member of the Malaniak crew, he was killed when their plane crashed on July 19, 1944. He is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. F/O Ramos was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945. His name is also listed on a plaque at the County Courthouse in Gainesville, FL.
