Joseph Harrison Redmond was born on March 3, 1916. He served in the 563rd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Sergeant and Radio Operator of #42-5942 "Sky Shy / Wenatchee Special" aircraft during World War II. A member of the Bowen crew, he was killed when their plane crashed on September 6, 1943. He is now buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA. Sgt Redmond was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
