David Rosenthal entered the military service in New Jersey. He served in the 560th Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a First Lieutenant and Bombardier of #42-97219 "Reuel's Revenge" aircraft during World War II. He was killed on a bombing mission to Stuttgart, Germany on September 5, 1944 and is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. 1Lt Rosenthal was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
