Elmer Fred Schulz entered the military service in Nebraska. He served in the 560th Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of #42-30203 "Shack-Up" aircraft during World War II. He was declared "Missing in Action" on August 10, 1945 and is commemorated on the Tablets of the Missing, Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France. 2Lt Schulz was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
