Francis J. Seibel was born on January 4, 1924. He served in the 563rd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group (Heavy), as a Staff Sergeant and Radio Operator of #42-31103 "Pegasus II" aircraft during World War II. A member of the WilsonL crew, he was killed when their plane crashed on March 23, 1944. SSgt Seibel is now buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA. He was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
