Edgar Franklin Slentz was born on October 31, 1916 in Whatcom County, Washington. He was the son of Corwin T. Slentz and Florence LaVerne Johnson Slentz. Edgar served in the 563rd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group (Heavy), as a Second Lieutenant and bombardier of #42-31131 "Satan's Sister" aircraft during World War II. He is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France. 2Lt Slentz was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
