Earl Thomas Switzer was born on November 25, 1920 in New York. He enlisted in the Army on July 16, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted as being employed in the ore dressing occupation and also as Single, without dependents. Earl served as a Technical Sergeant in the 563rd Bomber Squadron, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. A member of the GunnJR crew, he was killed when their plane crashed on July 26, 1943. He is now buried in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, Monroe County, New York, USA. Sgt Switzer was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
