Donald Charles Trachsel was born in 1920. He served in the 563rd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group (Heavy), as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of #42-102953 "Sky Anne" aircraft during World War II. A member of the Lord crew, he was killed when their plane crashed on September 28, 1944. He is now buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Bel-Nor, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA. 2Lt Trachsel was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
