Donald Elliott Walker was born on April 29, 1917 in West Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Elliott Pratt Walker and Vera C. Haley Walker. He served in the 560th Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group (Heavy), as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of #42-31393 "Snafu" aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 29, 1944 and is now buried in the Arms Cemetery, Shelburne Falls, Franklin County, Massachusetts, USA. 2Lt Walker was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
