Prentice Cushing Weathers was born on June 2, 1918 in Short Hills, Essex County, New Jersey. He served in the 561st Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group (Heavy), as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of #42-32030 "Devil's Luck" aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 13, 1944 and is now buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. 1Lt Weathers was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
