George Bailey Webster, Jr. was born on June 27, 1919 in Texas. He was residing in Texas, his native state, when he voluntarily enlisted on June 27, 1940. He had completed 2 years of college and had been employed as a laborer in a hatchery. He also was married. A member of the Fisher crew, he was killed when their plane was shot down on July 8, 1944. He is now buried in the Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Grayson County, Texas, USA. TSgt Webster was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
