Errol Scott Wolf was born on January 30, 1919 in Gaston, Washington County, Oregon. He served in the 561st Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group (Heavy), as a Staff Sergeant and waist gunner of #42-31209 "Janie BB" aircraft during World War II. A member of the Bianchi crew, he was killed when their plane was shot by a flak and crashed on January 30, 1944 over Germany. He is now buried in the Mountain View Cemetery, Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington, USA. Sgt Wolf was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
