Julius Franklin Greer, Jr. was born on April 6, 1910 in Monticello, Georgia. Julius was a B-17 right waist gunner assigned to 381st BG 535th BS, killed in action on November 5, 1943 on a mission to Gelsenkirchen, flying aboard #42-30852. He was Killed in Action on November 5, 1943 during a German fighter attack. His body was never recovered and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands. He also has a cenotaph located in West View Cemetery, Monticello, Jasper County, Georgia.
