Armand R. Richard was a B-17 ball turret gunner assigned to 535th Bomber Squadron, 381st Bomber Group. He was killed in action on November 5, 1943 during a mission to Gelsenkirchen, flying aboard 42-30852. It was reported that the power was out to the aircraft which prevented the ball turret to move. S/Sgt Richard was unable to escape. His body was never recovered and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
