Patrick Huffman Choate was born on December 13, 1921. He was the son of William Kyle Choate and Jamie Elizabeth Huffman Choate. Patrick enlisted in the Army on November 24, 1940 and served in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division as a Sergeant during World War II. He died on September 23, 1944 at the age of 22 and is now buried in the Oakland Memorial Park, Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, USA. SGT Choate was one of the brave American paratroopers of the 501st Inf who liberated the village of Eerde, The Netherlands from German forces in September 1944.
