Wayne A. McClung was born on April 21, 1924. He was the son of Harvey Archie McClung and Bernice Helen McGrew McClung. Wayne served in Company D, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 25, 1944 at the age of 20 during the liberation of Eerde, The Netherlands and is now buried in the Graceland Cemetery, Shelby, Polk County, Nebraska, USA.
