George W. Phillips was born on June 1, 1919 in Ephrata, Grant County, Washington. He was the son of George Edward Phillips and Olive Maude Collins Phillips. George served in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He died on September 18, 1944 at the age of 25 during the liberation of Eerde, The Netherlands and is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
