Charles Walker Stephens, Jr. was born on August 12, 1922 in Alabama. He was the son of Charles Walker Stephens and Luna Mobley Stephens. Charles Jr. served in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 24, 1944 at the age of 22, defending the village of Eerde, The Netherlands against German forces and is now buried in the Chulafinnee Baptist Church Cemetery, Chulafinnee, Cleburne County, Alabama, USA.
