Richard Harold Waldrep was born on September 15, 1920. He was the son of Hubert Columbus Waldrep and Muriel Lemma Chandler Waldrep. Richard served in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division as a Private during World War II. He died on September 20, 1944 at the age of 24, during the liberation of Eerde, The Netherlands and is now buried in the Hollywood Cemetery, Tallapoosa, Haralson County, Georgia, USA.
