Henry Fremont Ripley was born on November 28, 1904 in Mindanao, Philippines to Henry Ashley Ripley and Clara Smith Ripley. He graduated from U.S. Naval Academy, Class of 1926. Henry joined the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve and was commissioned on September 8, 1941. He served on HMS Nasturtium (corvette) from December 9, 1941 to August 1942. Henry died on December 2, 1960 at the age of 56 in San Antonio, Texas and is now buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan.
