Corlys A. Bedford was born on February 6, 1920, in Ohio. He was the son of Herbert Milton Bedford and Myra Margaret Bedford. He served in the 367th Fighter Squadron, 358th Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. 2LT Bedford was a Fighter Pilot of P-47D # 42-75064 which was shot down by enemy fighters on return from an escort mission to Ludwigshafen, Germany on 7 January 1944. He was Killed in Action, at the age of 23, and is now buried in the Strongsville Cemetery, Strongsville, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA.
