Mark A. Osbourn entered the military service in North Carolina and served in the 365th Fighter Squadron, 358th Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 7, 1944, aboard the P-47D #42-8552 aircraft. His plane was lost on return from an escort mission to Ludwigshafen, Germany. 2Lt Osborn is buried now in the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
