Sam G. Fuller, Jr., aged 24, was born on May 29, 1920, in Brownsville, Texas. He was the son of Samuel and Amy Goodjohn Fuller. Sam served in the 362nd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was killed in the crash of the P-51 #44-13596 aircraft, from flak, near Herbertingen, Germany on November 18, 1944. He is buried now in the Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France. His name is listed on the Leiston Airfield Memorial in England, but his middle initial is inscribed as "C."
