Roy L. Marks was born on December 21, 1923 in George. He was the son of Benjamin G. Marks and Luden Pauline Miller Marks. He served in the 109th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. PVT Marks was taken as a prisoner in the Battle of The Bulge and died on January 26, 1945, at the age of 21. He was initially buried in the Gerolstein town cemetery in Germany. His final resting place in the Midway Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Villa Rica, Carroll County, Georgia, USA.
