William Grundy Haven was born on March 17, 1924 in Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Anderson Haven and Estelle Grundy Haven. He served in Company A, 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Haven was taken as a prisoner in the Battle of The Bulge and died on January 11, 1945, at the age of 20, in Belgium. He was initially buried in the Gerolstein town cemetery in Germany. His final resting place is in the Beatty Cemetery, Vernon Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, USA.
