Willis R. Huckleberry was born on April 11, 1914 in Brownfield, Texas. He was the son of Albert King Huckleberry and Ardella M. Howard Huckleberry. he served in the 86th Troop Squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group as a Flight Officer and glider pilot of an Airspeed Horsa glider LJ216 during World War II. F/O Huckleberry was killed in a crash on june 6, 1944, at the age of 30, in France. He is buried now in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery, Brownfield, Terry County, Texas, USA.
