                            William C. Yaeger was born on May 14, 1921 in Rochester, New York. He resided at 202 Field Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war. He served as a First Lieutenant in the 85th Squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
On September 17, 1944, Operation Market Garden began, an airborne invasion of Holland. He was the Pilot on C-47 "Tug O War", towing a glider filled with troops. Unfortunately, the Tug O War took a hit and ultimately crashed, killing 1LT Yaeger and SSGT Wisniewski. 1LT Yaeger is buried now in the Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
